First Tournament: What was most important to our young soccer players

We took a team spanning 10-12 years old to the Durango Shootout this weekend. Our team is transitioning from being a local rec team to dipping their cleats into the craziness of travel soccer. We drove up to southern Colorado and played the toughest teams we have played in the past year.

As coaches, we were focused on fielding the strongest combinations of players to give us the best shot at winning. We also wanted every player to get at least 50% of playing time per game, as that is how we have run the team for the past two seasons.

We asked our players one question after 2 games into the tournament:

What has been your best moment of the tournament?

Their views of the tournament experience were so refreshing and sweet. Thought I would share.
