North America Spends $64 Billion on Sports – $15B of that towards youth sports

ACG Partners published in its December 2016 Insights that North America is spending $64 billion a year on sports.

The amount spent on professional sports? About $38 billion.

Where is the other $26 billion spent? College, club, high school sports and related activities.

How much of that is related to revenue of the 14,000 different organizations supporting youth sports? Around $9 billion.

What amount of that is spent on travel related to youth and high school sports? $7 billion.

National Center for Charitable Statistic estimates that 27% of all trips taken in 2014 were related to attending a youth sport event.
